the things that Paris does to you.

I don't know what it is about this place, but it's made me reflect so much on what I've wanted out of life up to this point, and completely turned so much of it upside down.

Firstly.

So I've never wanted children.  Like I've always thought in the back of my mind: "Of course I'll have a few" but it's never been a conscious desire in the forefront of my thoughts. But this trip is making me baby crazy.  What is it about little french-speaking babies and children that just makes me want to snatch some of them up off the street (in a completely normal, non-creepy fashion?)

Maybe this is why?

Too too happy to be getting out of pre-school.

STYLISH kid with gingham, baby bear and giraffe.

2.  I actually saw a relationship start under the eiffel tower.  I thought the fact that Paris is a city of love was just a stereotype but then I was proved terribly wrong. And sometimes you do see people just going at it on a bridge.  But sometimes I have experiences and I just think how amazing it would be to share them with someone.  And let's be honest, mainly someone that's a man. I'm fully aware that this is mostly just all talk, being a broke college student and all and when I get married I'll be even more short on money, but I plan to bring him, whoever that is, back here one day.

This song came on my shuffle this morning when I was getting ready and has been stuck in my head all day. I may or may not know him already, but I hope when I realize I'm in love, it feels like I've known him my whole life, as the wise Ingrid says, "It was always you."

(Fan-made video, beautiful song.)

All my love, B.

P.S.  I just spent the last hour, (over baguettes and cheese of course), teaching my family's teenaged children how to say really difficult (to them) English sentences in an American accent. They totally said "I would like to buy a hamburger" Steve Martin Pink-Panther style and struggled over the words "strawberries".  Most hilarious hour of my life.

Now, not only have you encouraged my baby fever, but you've made me want to dress my future babies in adorable gingham and take them to France!
"I would like to buy a hamburger"...hahaha, how completely American!
