It's part of the growth process the Lord helps us go through. If I could give you some advice, having recently gone through a similar experience myself. Remember that while you are front and center, the welfare of your relief society does not hinge simply upon you and the Lord. Every single one of your girls should be striving to make that relief society as strong as you want it to be. One of the beautiful things about this church is that the Lord DOESN'T want the average Mormon girl. He wants the exceptional. You'll do great, and I know that because I was there when we decided who the RS President was going to be! I can tell you that Bishop is always very in tune with the spirit when it comes to callings. And when he said your name, everyone in the room felt confident that you were absolutely the right choice. The funny thing is, if he had picked you last year in the fall...I don't think I would have felt that way. But the changes and growth you've had have qualified you for the work! You're the right girl, at the right time, with the necessary skills and personality for the job. Ashley hit the nail on the head above. You will be great.dwhitebudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12260011553264591064noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4292228344289337394.post-20549581370190951222012-09-01T05:05:44.665-07:002012-09-01T05:05:44.665-07:00Britt, I haven't known you that long but just ...Britt, I haven't known you that long but just from our few conversations I can tell that you are absolutely qualified for this position, at this time, in this ward. You're who the Lord wants here. You are so kind, so down-to-earth, and so non-judgemental - the kind of person everyone feels comfortable trusting. You have had great struggles in life already, but I sense that you have great opportunities ahead. I have no doubt in my mind that you will be blessed for your sacrifice and service in this calling; you have made great sacrifices already because you want to give your best to it. You are a great example of humility to me. I love the quote, 'God does not call the qualified - He qualifies the called.'

I am grateful to get the chance to know you and learn from you. I love you already. You are fantastic.

If you ever need ANYTHING, pertaining to this calling or just life in general, I'm here for ya!

Love,
AshleyAshleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13225220713310010150noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4292228344289337394.post-7896132201173710762012-08-31T23:30:03.128-07:002012-08-31T23:30:03.128-07:00IT WAS GREAT SEEING YOU TODAY FOR TWO SECONDS!
Al...IT WAS GREAT SEEING YOU TODAY FOR TWO SECONDS!

Also, I'm happy you realized that "The Lord only chooses who He knows can succeed and who needs to grow from it most." (: You do not need to be the typical, BYU Mormon girl who wants a family or kids ASAP, can cook, or is extremely not sarcastic. The Lord knows you, as I know you know. You will do great things WITH the Lord!Melizza Andreahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13813333881849356099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4292228344289337394.post-90517598980918326832012-08-31T15:13:46.175-07:002012-08-31T15:13:46.175-07:00Such an exciting calling! Especially because I'm graded on it, and everyone in the theatre world practically tears student directors apart!
Ashley
Of Thoughts and ThingsAshley Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17044807415176887257noreply@blogger.com
